An advanced machining summer camp for ages 15-18. This 7-hour learning camp will introduce campers to a basic understanding of how things are made. The camp will make you more appreciative of the world around you.
Design and build a Miniature Hockey stick to blueprint specification, experiencing the start-to-finish satisfaction of creating something you can show off with pride. In the process you will learn how to do design and operate equipment under the close supervision of expert instructors. You will also learn what types of jobs exist, what skills and training are required, and how those businesses are developed.
Here's a chance to learn about:
- General and machine safety
- Basic measuring equipment
- Using a CAD/CAM software to create part project
- Machining of completed project using a Computer Numerically Controlled Machine
Lunch will be provided.
Class Limit: 8-12 students
